Dear Parents,
We are very excited that your child has chosen to audition for the ”The
Pinocchio Show”.
Theater is a vibrant part of our culture and community and allows children the
freedom
to express themselves creatively while promoting individuality and developing
self-confidence.
At AAMCT whether backstage or in the spotlight students are taught to use their
talents to help each
other, which enhances the company as a whole and ensures the high quality
performance we are
known for. It is our goal to provide as many children as possible with an
educational and high
quality theatre experience in hopes of fostering a life long appreciation for
theatre and the arts.
Auditions,
as well as call backs and rehearsals,
are held at the Pipe Fitter's Training Facility 10820
187th street in Mokena. Auditions are on January 14th from 9:30 - 3:00 by
appointment.
Students will be taught a short
dance combination, sing a
song and read a selection from the script.
Please call 708-479-0440 or email
allaboutmusicmokena@yahoo.com
to schedule an appointment
for your child.
The
makeup date and call backs
will be held on Thursday January 19th from 5:30 to
8:00pm.
Not everyone will need to be seen for a callback.
PLEASE PRINT OUT THE AUDITION FORM BELOW
AND BRING IT WITH TO THE AUDITIONS ALONG WITH A
CURRENT PICTURE OF YOUR CHILD. It does
not have to be a professional comp card, just a
clear photo from the waist up. A school photo would be fine.
Performances are Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday,
April 13th, 14th & 15th at Lincoln-Way West
High School Auditorium, 21701 Gougar Road, New
Lenox.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $11 for seniors and kids 12
and under.
We may double cast some or all of the characters, but each student will be in a
minimum of two shows.
The tuition fee
is $199 per student each, additional siblings are $184.
(All payments are cash or check only)
This helps offset the cost of
the child’s script, CD, costume (excluding shoes, tights and leotards),
set construction, royalties, theatre rental and the education and
supervision during rehearsals,
tech week and shows. As with any organization of this size all parents are
required to volunteer a
minimum of 5 hours or pay a $50 buyout fee. We do not want to
exclude anyone based on financial need.
Work study and time payment options are available, please email
allaboutmusicmokena@yahoo.com for more information in advance of your audition.
All financial
arrangements must be made prior to auditions.
Rehearsals for
everyone are Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm, at Pipefitter’s Training
Facility.
These rehearsals may be broken up into morning and afternoon depending on the
number of students
that are chosen for the cast. A tentative
calendar will be available before auditions.
Depending on the size of the students roll, they
will also have rehearsals on some Monday
evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm at All About Music and some Thursday evenings from
6:00 – 8:00 at the Pipefitter’s. In general the larger the role, the
more rehearsal time is needed.
Rehearsals cont'd
An
adult MUST accompany all students under the age of 18 into and out of rehearsals
unless
there is a disability involved that precludes you from climbing the stairs.
In that case arrangements
should be made with the production team. Part of our agreement with the training
facility is that
no child will be unaccompanied in the facility at any time. This includes
siblings of cast members.
The facility is very large and we want all the students to be safe. Thank you
for your understanding
and cooperation in this matter.
Tech Week dates are Mon., Tues., Wed., and Thur., April 9th, 10th, 11thand 12th
from
5:00 to 9:00pm and attendance is mandatory if you cannot be at tech week
you cannot
be in the show.
The quality of
the production depends on
the cast as a whole, attendance is extremely
important, students missing
3 unexcused rehearsals may have their parts reassigned or be removed from
part or all of the show. Just like any
sport, the cast is a team and when members are missing you can't
play a good game.
The mandatory parent meeting
will be on Thursday, January 26, at 7:00pm.
Volunteer forms and
participation fees are due at this time, tee
shirts, program ads and tickets may also be purchased.
Your child will be measured for his/her costume,
and receive all their materials.
Please use the rear entrance.
We look forward to seeing you at auditions!
