MUSIC THEATRE CAMP  "That's Entertainment" Musical Revue

July 19th - 31st

Music Theatre is an instructional camp open to students entering 1st – 12th grade.  (Students entering Kindergarten must have faculty consent)  This years camp will feature hit songs from musicals throughout the decades including songs from Annie, A Chorus Line, Wicked, and more and concludes with a performance at “All About Musicpalooza” on Saturday, July 31, 2010.  Camp meets for 2 weeks at the Pipe Fitter's Training Facility..

Students will…

TIMES: Monday thru Thursday 9:00 - 2:30pm, Friday.  Parents need to sign kids in at drop off.

 

¨ Monday - Thursday, 7/19 - 7/22 & 7/26 - 7/29 9:00 am to 2:30 pm bring a sack lunch

¨ Friday, July 23rd  9:00 am to 12:00 pm (no lunch)

¨ Friday, July 30th 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Dress Rehearsal at AAMCT

¨ 2 Performances Saturday, July 31st between 3:00 & 8:00pm at All About Musicpalooza

¨ The cost is $240 per student and includes an All About Music T-shirt.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of enrollment to hold your spot.  Tuition is due in full by June 19th, 2010. There are no refunds of tuition after June 18th, 2010

All About Musicpalooza is an all day outdoor music festival with 2 covered stages, refreshments, games and raffles.  Tickets for the concert are $7 each or $5.00 with the donation of items for our troops overseas.  (Items must be turned in with ticket order)  Children 2 and under are free.  All items and ticket proceeds are donated to Operation Support Our Troops Illinois (OSOTIL).  Please bring a lawn chair, seating is on a first come first serve basis.

*  In order to have a successful event of this size volunteer support is crucial.  Parents are required to volunteer a minimum of 2 hours per child or pay a $30 buyout fee per child so someone can be hired to replace you. 

Guitar Class Monday & Wednesday, June 14th to 30th

A group guitar class for beginners ages 8 and up, students will  learn to read notes and play chords.

TIMES:  Monday and Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30am June 14, 16, 21,23,28 & 30.

The cost is $72 per student plus the cost of the lesson book that is yours to keep.  Guitar rental is available for an additional fee.  Space is limited to insure quality and individual attention.

 

GLEE GROUP July 7th to 29th, Wednesday & Thursday evenings

 

Glee group is by audition for students completing  5th – 12th grade.  (Younger students may audition with faculty consent)  Auditions are Thursday, June 17th turn in a registration form to make an  appointment.  Prepare a pop style song and come prepared to learn a dance combination.

Students will…

¯ Sing, dance and narrate songs from the hit TV series Glee such as True Colors, Lean On Me,  Don't Stop Believing, It's My Life, Walking On Sunshine and more.

TIMES:  6:00 to 9:00 pm Wednesday & Thursday evenings July 7th to 29th

DRESS REHEARSAL: Friday, July 30th 12:30 to 2:30 pm

Performance at All About Musicpalooza, July 31st. (See info at bottom of theatre camp)

The cost is $140 per student.  A $50 deposit is due when you sign up for auditions (refunded in full if

 you do not make it) and the balance is due upon notification of acceptance in the group.

 

SUMMER ROCK SCHOOL July 12th -27th

Rock School is open to students entering 5th grade through completing 12th, and concludes with a performance at our outdoor concert “All About Musicpalooza” on Saturday, July 31, 2010.  Students must have prior knowledge of their instrument and are accepted by audition.  Not all students will be accepted.

Students will… 

¯ Learn two or three songs (depending on age and ability)

¯ Rehearse with a professional rock band

¯ Learn Music Theory

 

ROCK SCHOOL DATES:

¨ Monday & Tuesday Evenings from July 12th to 27th  6:30 to 9:00 pm

¨ Dress Rehearsal Friday, July 30th 7:00 to 9:00 pm

¨ Performance at All About Musicpalooza on Saturday, July 31st between 3 & 9 pm (see description at bottom of theatre camp info)

¨ Auditions are Wednesday evening June 16th please turn in registration form to schedule an audition

¨ The cost is $140 per student.  A $50 deposit is due when you sign up for auditions and will be applied to tuition balance or refunded if the student does not pass the audition.  Tuition balance is due immediately upon acceptance in the camp and is refundable, minus deposit until, June 12th.  There are no refunds after June 12th.

¨ Students need to bring their instrument, chord a practice size amplifier and a stand. Drummers need to bring sticks.  (Drums a PA and microphones will be provided.)
